Song review: Dancing Good Good - 小鐘 Xiao Zhong

Holaaaaa!

Another post of 小鐘 (Xiao Zhong)

With the original name of 鐘昀呈 (Jason Chung / Zhong Yun Cheng).

Who is he?
The picture below is what he looks like.

Boring, huh?
This is still a post from his new fan.
I'm hoping that the singer doesn't read my posts about him, though I'd feel honored if he knows about the existence of all my posts regarding him, or maybe if he'd start sharing them on his Facebook fanpage and commenting on them. I'll start daydreaming! Haha. I don't know why, but I feel like I want to write about him since he has such great, great music. So, why not?

Okay, looking at the title......
We all definitely know what the song is about. There's no Chinese name; it's just in English.
That's right,

Dancing Good GOOD!

This song is one of his most famous hit. He performed this song for years, so consider that this is an old song. haha. Really old, before his album was really released on December 4, 2013, and is the third single of the album. However, my post is a bit late. I posted his new video first in my blog before this song, which is 相信你自己 (Xiang Xin Ni Zi Ji). Maybe because I like this song least than the other songs in the album, but this song is not bad though.

The first time I heard this song, I was like, oh my God. I don't think this is considered as a song. I felt awkward when I listened to this song for the first time. And, it's started with "Se Moi An Ciang", which I definitely know what the sentence is about. Another unique thing, this is like, a mixture of Hakka, Hokkien, Mandarin and English. Though this is considered as a Mandarin song. Since this song is unique, I decided to use this song as my phone ringtone, and in a high volume. So, when somebody called me, the "Se Moi An Ciang Good Good!" sound plus its BIG volume will shock me and I can answer my phone. Smart, huh?

The official music video for this song was uploaded by Xiao Zhong himself in his YouTube channel, on Jan 31, 2014, exactly on the first day of Chinese New Year. Maybe that is why, in the video, there is one model wearing a horse mask in his head, to welcome the year of the horse.
By the way, Xiao Zhong revealed himself in his Facebook page that there are about 2-3 celebrities involved in this video. How clever.
Here's the official music video of Dancing Good Good:

Dancing Good Good music video

I like this song, but actually not really as much as 分開的結果 (Fen Kai De Jie Guo)相信你自己 (Xiang Xin Ni Zi Ji) and 天灰灰 (Tian Hui Hui). Maybe because I'm bored with the beginning of this song since this song is my phone ringtone. But why not? Give this song a chance. Not a bad one from a talented Xiao Zhong.
I personally think that not only because there are mixture languages in this song. This song is definitely catchy to all people because of the "Disco Disco Good Good" part. Listening to only this part, you definitely will know that this is Xiao Zhong singing. The dance is quite easy for people to learn either. A good way to sweat! Haha.
But can you believe that Xiao Zhong composed this song HIMSELF? Because I don't! I know that he wrote all the songs in this album himself, but, who knows that he also composed this song? Yes. I was like, I don't know. Whatever. Speechless at the first time, but okay, alright. I discovered his talents again. I'm guessing that he also "invented" the choreography dance himself. This song is even more catchy, or you can say more than catchy! Maybe I'm over reactive, but hey, come on. That's the fact.

As usual, here's the lyrics.
I attempted to translate the lyrics myself (again), with lots and lots of corrections from one of my internet buddies. Actually, this song is the easiest for me to translate since this song is MOSTLY English, haha, but still though, there are about 2 or 3 parts that are unknown to non-Taiwanese out there, like me, and which I finally knew what they mean so I can translate the whole song. Only people at Taiwan know what the song means, and definitely, the singer-who-also-composed-the-song too. It's stupid if a singer composes the song without even knowing what the song is about. Which is why, in my opinion, composing and making the lyrics only one song, and especially all the songs in one album is not easy. It needs more and more skills. And I really appreciate what Xiao Zhong is doing. He is the singer, composer and the lyricist for his album. Though his album was released in such an age, at least he proved to the world that he is a musician-and-also-singer who is totally focusing his life to the music industry. He deserved a positive feedback for all of his works that he had done in his life. Including this song.

Okay, back to the topic! Here are the lyrics with the translation, which is not considered as translation, since you can see many languages below. Sorry if the translation is not the best. Enjoy!

Mr. Good Good

NOTE:
- Se Moi An Ciang (細妹按靚) is spoken in Hakka, means beautiful girl (s).
- Gut () is spoken in Taiwanese, means dig.
- According to some research, 叭噗 (Ba Pu) can refer to many many things. 叭噗 (Ba Pu) is commonly known as a name of an ice cream, years ago. It could also refer to a sound from an air pumped into a plastic ball. But in the sentence on the lyrics, 叭噗 (Ba Pu) is referring to nonsense. So the meaning of this line is basically, since the singer loves to say nonsense mostly when he is driving, he don't want any more nonsense from other people, just dance and ignore all of the nonsense.
